Legoland Shanghai Resort, the largest of its kind globally, is set to open its gates on July 5, offering families an immersive world of creativity, adventure, and cultural charm.
Spanning eight themed zones and featuring more than 75 rides, performances, and interactive attractions, the resort combines Lego's iconic play experience with local storytelling, making it a one-of-a-kind destination for visitors of all ages.
Kid-friendly fun
Specifically designed for children aged 2 to 12, the park includes a variety of rides tailored to different ages. Younger guests can enjoy age-appropriate attractions such as the Dragon's Apprentice roller coaster, Duplo Express, Junior Driving School, and the Junior Flight Academy.
In addition to rides, the park hosts 22 daily character meet-and-greets with beloved Lego figures, along with 11 themed performances and rotating special events. Dining experiences, including Pigsy's Food Court and Lego City Restaurant, come with colorful Lego-themed tableware, while exclusive Lego-shaped ice creams bring a whimsical touch to snack time.
Miniland marvels
One of the resort's signature features is Miniland — a miniature world built from more than 20 million Lego bricks. Here, visitors can explore famous landmarks, historical relics, and natural wonders.
A highlight is the towering 10.1-meter Lego model of Shanghai Tower, made from over 344,000 bricks. The area includes more than 11,000 mini residents and 61 animated models with lights, sound effects, and interactive functions.
Exclusive global-first attractions
Legoland Shanghai debuts several world-first attractions. Two themed areas — Legoland Creative World and Lego Monkie Kid — are exclusive to this park.
The Creative World building features a facade made of 95 giant Lego bricks, each 750 times larger than standard size. In front stands Dada, the world's tallest Lego minifigure at 26 meters tall and 136 tons — a symbol of the resort.
The Big Lego Coaster, the longest in any Legoland park at 530 meters, winds through massive Lego sculptures alongside Dada.
The Lego Monkie Kid zone, inspired by the Chinese classic Journey to the West, brings mythology to life through immersive design.
The resort has also debuted the world's only Jiangnan (the region south of the Yangtze River in China) water town-style Legoland Boat Tour, blending Lego fun with traditional Chinese charm.
Visitors can also experience the premiere live show Battle for Flower Fruit Mountain, joining Monkie Kid and his friends on an epic quest to protect the mountain from the demon.
Indoors, guests will be treated to the immersive Miniland Light Show and the Shanghai Dreamscapes projection experience.
