The Pocket Gamer Connects (PGC) Summit, one of the world's leading B2B events for the games industry, returned to Shanghai's Pudong New Area on July 29 for its second consecutive year.

The summit brings together game developers, publishers, investors, service providers and platforms from around the world to explore new opportunities for international collaboration.

Since its launch in 2014, PGC has hosted more than 50 events in cities such as London, San Francisco, Helsinki and Barcelona. This year's Pudong edition expanded in both scale and programming, positioning itself as a meeting point for the Eastern and Western gaming industries.

Discussions focused on topics such as global market trends, monetization strategies, cross-border growth, artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies, providing a business-oriented platform for industry leaders to build partnerships and accelerate international expansion.

The event attracted leading companies such as Amazon Web Services, Supercell, Epic Games, Electronic Arts, Huawei, Xiaomi and Oppo. Participants highlighted AI as one of the industry's defining trends and emphasized the growing importance of deeper collaboration between China's gaming sector and global markets.

A key feature of this year's summit was the expanded Big Indie Pitch, which created new opportunities for Chinese studios to reach overseas publishers while helping international developers connect with China's gaming ecosystem, further reinforcing Pudong's role as a hub for global digital entertainment and innovation.
