China Pharmaceutical Innovation Conference opens in Shanghai

Global pharmaceutical leaders gathered in Shanghai on July 22 for the inaugural China Pharmaceutical Innovation Conference (CPIC 2026). The three-day event is being held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) in the Hongqiao International Central Business District.

The conference highlights China's growing role as a global hub for pharmaceutical innovation and cross-border collaboration. It is centered on two forward-looking questions: How can China's efficiency accelerate global drug innovation? And how can global capital better capitalize on opportunities in China?

More than 10,000 participants from 22 countries have attended the event, with nearly 900 speakers sharing insights across 65 sessions.

Organized by Tonacea, a platform dedicated to China's biopharmaceutical innovation ecosystem, the conference follows the theme of "China Innovation – Global Partnerships – Shanghai Dealmaking" to foster international collaboration and investment.

CPIC has brought together a distinguished lineup of multinational pharmaceutical companies, global investment banks, major stock exchanges, and leading law and accounting firms.

In addition to in-depth discussions on China's biopharmaceutical industry and visits to flagship industrial parks, participants can take part in one-on-one business matchmaking with more than 1,000 innovative enterprises, creating opportunities for high-value cross-border partnerships and dealmaking.
