West Hongqiao Business District in Qingpu district, Shanghai, is positioning itself as a high-end global gateway where multinational companies and industry leaders grow through "coexistence and complementarity".

Covering about 19 square kilometers, the district serves national strategies, including the China International Import Expo, the Hongqiao International Open Hub, and the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta. It is a core engine for Qingpu's east-wing development.

The district is building four main sectors: exhibitions, fashion consumption, scientific and technological innovation, and overseas expansion services. Its exhibition industry has attracted more than 500 companies, with revenue exceeding 4 billion yuan ($556 million).

In fashion consumption, headquarters projects involving domestic leaders such as Bosideng and ANTA generate more than 80 billion yuan in annual revenue. In the realm of innovation, Beidou West Hongqiao Park has successfully attracted over 400 companies.

Key sectors, including home appliances, new energy, and nuclear technology, are strengthening strategic alliances with advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, and green energy initiatives.

West Hongqiao's edge lies in the combination of strategic positioning, transport connectivity and industrial integration. Through the Shanghai CIPA Overseas Service Platform, it aims to become a first stop for Yangtze River Delta companies entering Shanghai and expanding overseas.

The district is also improving services for companies through policy access, government affairs support, compliance guidance, legal services, talent services and cross-border resource matching, seeking to build an open ecosystem for both domestic and foreign enterprises.
