Hongqiao unveils product selection guideline for livestream industry

The 2026 Shanghai Silk Road Cloud Products Livestream E-commerce Week kicked off at the Hongqiao Import Commodity Exhibition and Trade Center on June 1, as a key part of the 2026 Shanghai Shopping Festival.

Running from June 1 to 7, the event features five themed festivals covering global food, beauty, home goods and cross-border products. It integrates online livestreaming, offline experience and industrial matchmaking to boost Silk Road cross-border e-commerce and leverage the spillover effects of the China International Import Expo.

During the launch ceremony, Hongqiao released a 2026 trial livestream product selection guideline, the region's unified industry benchmark.

It establishes clear compliance rules, quality standards, and full-process management norms for all livestream market participants to safeguard consumer rights and standardize industrial development.

The new Hongqiao Live Streaming Economy Service Alliance was also established, with 24 initial members covering livestream bases, top MCNs, brands, and professional institutions. It aims to build a coordinated, standardized industrial ecosystem.

Boasting a 10 billion yuan ($1.46 billion) livestream industry cluster, Hongqiao will further empower cross-border e-commerce cooperation and support Shanghai's goal of becoming a global consumption hub.
