Shanghai, Belgrade to deepen friendship-city ties

Shanghai Party Secretary Chen Jining met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in Shanghai on May 28.

Chen expressed Shanghai's willingness to further deepen its friendship-city relationship with Belgrade, strengthen economic, trade and investment ties, promote mutual learning in urban governance, and expand practical cooperation in areas including education, culture, tourism and sports.

He also called for closer people-to-people exchanges, especially among young people, to further strengthen the ironclad friendship between China and Serbia.

Vucic expressed hope that the two sides will continue expanding cooperation in economic and trade affairs and tourism, deepen exchanges and mutual learning in areas such as high technology, industrial development and urban governance, further strengthen the two countries' ironclad friendship, and better benefit their peoples.
