The Shanghai Municipal Commission of Science and Technology signed a statement of intent with Spain's Center for Technological Development and Innovation to enhance cooperation in science and technology.

The statement was signed during Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez's visit to China in April. Under the statement, the two sides will promote collaboration through information sharing, coordinated development, and jointly organized activities.

Key areas of cooperation include green technology, clean energy, biomedicine, digital technology, and advanced materials.

Research institutions and enterprises from both sides are encouraged and supported in carrying out research cooperation, personnel exchanges, and mutual visits.

The Center for Technological Development and Innovation, part of Spain's Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, works to improve the technological capabilities of Spanish research institutions and companies, promote their participation in international cooperation, and advance international technology transfer.

The Shanghai Municipal Commission of Science and Technology, a municipal government department, oversees the city's scientific and technological affairs and innovation development, while promoting international sci-tech cooperation and exchange.
