Global AI developers to gather in Shanghai for 2026 summit

Shanghai will host the Global Developer Pioneers Summit 2026 from March 27 to 29 at the West Bund International Convention and Exhibition Center in Xuhui district, bringing together developers, startups, researchers and industry leaders to explore how AI can better solve real-world challenges.

Held under the theme "AI Moment, Shanghai Moment", the summit is guided by the World Artificial Intelligence Conference organizing committee, together with Shanghai municipal and Xuhui district authorities.

The event is designed to accelerate the real-world application of AI by bringing industry needs closer to research and technological innovation. It also reflects Shanghai's broader goal to strengthen its position as a global hub for AI innovation.

One of the summit's highlights will be an AI carnival featuring immersive experiences that showcase the integration of energy, computing power, science, and industry, while illustrating how AI is reshaping the city, business and everyday life.

Another major focus will be on empowering individual developers and one-person companies to turn new technologies into practical applications. Through open-source ecosystems such as Agent and OpenClaw, as well as a skills marketplace, the summit aims to connect technology providers with users and support more agile innovation across the AI sector.

The event will include an opening ceremony, industry challenge competitions, workshops, and interactive technology experiences. Discussions will cover emerging areas including agent-based systems, AI for science and AI-driven industrial applications.
