In addition, the city registered 149 generative AI services, which have become an important growth engine.
The event, to be held at the West Bund International Convention and Exhibition Center, will feature an opening ceremony, three competitions, more than 50 workshops, over 100 interactive experiences, and a variety of carnivals. Activities will focus on areas such as AI for science, AI coding, AI-generated short films, AI advertising, and AI-enabled terminals.
A highlight of the summit is the Super Entrepreneur Innovation Competition, designed to identify and support individuals developing AI start-ups in digital entertainment, life sciences, digital finance, and intelligent manufacturing. The OpenClaw Hackathon will challenge developers to solve real-world problems using AI technologies.
Chen Yong, vice-governor of Xuhui district, pointed out that the district has developed a complete AI industry chain covering computing power, foundation models, and vertical applications. Initiatives are underway to support entrepreneurs in AI agent development, AI for science, and AI-driven cultural and creative projects.
Zhong Junhao, secretary-general of the Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Industry Association, said the event aims to establish Shanghai as a city known for its open-source environment, rapid commercialization of ideas, cutting-edge AI applications, and strong support for developers.
Interactive experiences, including WAIC innovation project roadshows, will allow attendees to explore practical AI applications, particularly in the field of AI agent solutions.
The summit will also feature informal events such as a Developer's Night and an OpenClaw Festival to foster networking and innovation.
The summit is guided by the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) committee, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, and the Xuhui district people's government, and hosted by the Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Industry Association.
