The Shanghai Global Investment Promotion Conference 2026 and "Invest in Shanghai" Week will open on March 14, according to the Shanghai Municipal Government.
The annual event is designed to showcase Shanghai's investment environment, industrial strategy, and business ecosystem, while facilitating direct engagement between government authorities, enterprises, and investors.
This year's main event will be held at the Shanghai Eastern Hub International Business Cooperation Zone, a new landmark for international business cooperation.
01 What's on the agenda?
The conference will open with a high-level promotion session outlining key development priorities and emerging investment opportunities.
Two government-enterprise roundtables will convene technology firms and leading foreign-funded companies for in-depth discussions on innovation, supply chains, and market expansion.
A series of matchmaking and negotiation events will run in parallel, alongside themed investment promotion activities jointly organized by municipal and district authorities.
Nearly 500 prominent domestic and international enterprises are expected to attend, including multinational corporations, investment institutions, and emerging innovation-driven companies.
02 What will be launched?
A highlight of this year's conference will be the rollout of new projects, resources, and support platforms aimed at fostering new quality productive forces and strengthening Shanghai's industrial ecosystem. These include public platforms providing intelligent computing resources, data services, and services for companies expanding overseas.
Pilot testing and intermediate-scale validation platforms will be introduced in areas such as smart device adaptation, advanced civil aircraft manufacturing, and embodied intelligence components. Demonstration scenarios will cover humanoid robot training facilities, high-level autonomous driving zones, and next-generation aircraft testing bases.
Several major projects are expected to be formally launched during the event, including a 3D chip integrated manufacturing project, a general aviation engine research and production base, and an open innovation center established by Michelin.
More than 60 industrial, R&D, and commercial land parcels will also be presented to support future project development.
03 How will cooperation be facilitated?
Five dedicated functional zones will operate throughout the conference to streamline cooperation.
A project negotiation area will bring together representatives from 16 districts and four key industrial parks, while a financing service area will host 10 investment institutions. An investment roadshow platform will feature more than 30 innovative enterprises presenting to potential partners.
A policy consultation area staffed by eight municipal departments will provide on-site guidance, while a platform area will connect nearly 30 companies providing key production factors and support services with potential partners.
In addition, around 20 industry-focused promotion sessions and more than 20 curated site visits will be organized across districts, covering sectors such as intelligent manufacturing, artificial intelligence, aerospace, and intelligent connected vehicles.
