Lin-gang's Oriental Chip Port expands industrial footprint

Oriental Chip Port in Shanghai's Lin-gang Special Area has emerged as a major hub for China's integrated circuit industry, with key projects continuously advancing to drive the area's development.

Lin-gang has unveiled 82 major projects for 2026, including 49 in the industrial and technology sectors, highlighting the area's efforts on industrial innovation. At the start of 2026, several key projects at the port have broken ground or begun operations.

After its launch, the project will integrate into Lin-gang's industrial ecosystem, explore new energy safety applications for drones and other equipment operating in harsh environments, and contribute to building a full-chain safety and risk control system.

ProMinent Group, a German manufacturer of metering pumps and metering technology, has also expanded its footprint in Lin-gang. Its Shanghai headquarters and metering pump R&D base, which broke ground in July 2023, recently became operational.

The facility focuses on four major business areas, is equipped with 15 advanced production lines, and has an annual capacity of 40,000 large-scale units. Integrating multiple functions, the project is expected to support high-quality regional economic development.
