As international economic cooperation expands and cross-border exchanges increase, Shanghai is once again enhancing its support for international participants attending the China International Import Expo. The city's public security authorities have upgraded the entry-exit convenience package for the upcoming event.

Key features of the upgraded package

01 E-Port visas for Shanghai-initiated invitations

For the first time, foreign guests invited by Shanghai-based organizations to attend the CIIE can apply for e-port visas. Applications are submitted through the city's one-stop online government services platform "Government Online-Offline Shanghai", offering a fully digital process. This means no paper documents, no passport submission, no visa sticker, and expedited border clearance.

02 Port visa support for non-Shanghai exhibitors

Foreign guests invited by companies based outside Shanghai, who are unable to obtain a visa in advance, can apply for a port visa upon arrival in the city. Applications can be submitted by the individual or their inviting organization directly to the port visa office.

03 Group tourist visas for international visitors

Overseas groups attending the CIIE as general visitors can apply for group tourist visas via domestic travel agencies. The entire application process is online and does not require appointments.

04 Simplified procedures for returning exhibitors and professional visitors

Returning CIIE participants and professional attendees will benefit from simplified documentation requirements and faster visa processing. Visa application guides are prominently available on the official CIIE website, and eligible individuals may apply for multi-entry visa renewals.

05 Enhanced on-site services at the expo venue

Foreign exhibitors with extended business, negotiation, or trade needs can apply for stay or residence permits on-site at the Service Station for Overseas People of Shanghai Public Security Bureau in National Exhibition and Convention Center.
