Shanghai is preparing to host the 27th Pet Fair Asia from Aug 20 to 24, offering a comprehensive snapshot of the pet industry's latest developments and innovations.
This year's fair aims to reinforce its role as a leading platform for emerging trends and products in the Asia-Pacific region. The event will span all 17 halls of the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, supplemented by eight supply chain pavilions and an outdoor space, totaling 310,000 square meters.
Organizers expect more than 2,600 exhibitors from both domestic and international markets, along with some 500,000 professional visitors and pet enthusiasts.
Trade attendees are encouraged to register online before July 31 for complimentary admission.
Among the highlights is the Startup Zone, backed by social media platform Xiaohongshu, or Rednote, which will spotlight independent designers and emerging brands seeking to build direct connections with consumers. Meanwhile, the Genius Hub will highlight smart pet keeping with innovations such as smart pet phones and AI-powered robots, demonstrating the integration of technology in pet care.
To help visitors navigate the extensive fairgrounds, organizers are launching "Discovery of Good Products" — a curated trail featuring popular offerings and newly released items, all launched within the past six months. Order vouchers and on-site lucky draws will further encourage engagement and purchases.
New to the 2025 edition is a zone dedicated to full life cycle health management, presenting integrated solutions for pet health, from nutrition to specialized treatments.
The Small and Exotic Pet Zone will also see significant expansion, with over 350 brands occupying 15,000 square meters. The section will include live animals, care supplies, and veterinary products for small mammals, reptiles, birds, and turtles.
