The opening ceremony for an industrial park dedicated to Japanese small and medium-sized enterprises was held in Shanghai's Lin-gang Special Area on July 2.

Located within the Dishui Lake Financial Bay area, the park is part of a major initiative introduced by the Shanghai municipal government. Its aim is to strengthen collaboration between China and Japan in key industries, foster innovation and deepen cultural exchanges.

The park was completed and opened in just six months after its launch in January.

To date, 10 companies have moved into the park. They include precision equipment manufacturer Shimadzu, innovation incubator Takumi Innovators, environmental materials firm TBM and service robotics developer RobotBank.

The industrial park is poised to take full advantage of the Lin-gang Special Area's strengths in openness and innovation — offering strong support to Japanese small and medium-sized enterprises seeking to expand into the Chinese market.
