The 20th China International Cartoon and Game Expo, or CCG Expo, will take place from July 4 to 6 at the Banma Suhe International Convention Center in Shanghai's Putuo district.

The event will also mark the launch of the inaugural Shanghai International Anime Month, which runs through July and August.

CCG Expo is one of the country's largest integrated expos for anime, comics, games, and novels (ACGN), providing a vital platform for promoting original Chinese content and fostering international exchanges.

This year's expo will feature over 200 gaming booths, offering diverse and interactive experiences. Highlights include Tencent Video's Lord of the Mysteries, which will debut with an immersive tarot and steampunk-themed installation, and Path to Nowhere, showcasing challenging action gameplay.

Shanghai Public Transportation Card will roll out a series of nationwide travel cards featuring popular franchises such as Hatsune Miku, Path to Nowhere, Azur Lane, and Detective Conan.

Shadow Market, a popular section for tabletop gamers, will present a range of board games, indie titles, RPG scripts, and merchandise from around the world. The event will also host the first Shanghai Universal Tabletop Game Championship, accompanied by live stage shows, autograph sessions, and cosplay parades.

Riding the wave of ACGN culture (known as "erciyuan" in Chinese), Putuo will extend the anime-themed festivities beyond the expo venue. A series of five major events will follow, spanning shopping malls, tourist sites, and cultural venues, turning the entire district into a summer anime extravaganza.

These events will include themed concerts, pop-up stores, interactive exhibits, and immersive fan experiences combining animation, gaming, collectibles, and live streams.

During the anime month, Shanghai will also introduce ACGN-themed city tours across key commercial zones such as Global Harbor, inviting residents to explore the city's vibrant anime culture.

Early-bird tickets for the CCG Expo are now available on the Piaoxingqiu (票星球) online platform. Fans can search for "CCG EXPO" on the platform to purchase tickets in advance.
