The district is conveniently linked up by an efficient network of “four east-west and two south-north high-speed roads”. More transportation routes will be in operation to make Qingpu even more connected. The western extension of Songze Elevated Road is under development as another rapid city road connecting Qingpu to downtown Shanghai. As the historical origin of Shanghai, Qingpu boasts a profound culture in Southern China characterized by a unique image of “Green Qingpu, the Most Livable District”. The Songze Village, nourishing the Songze Culture that can be traced back to 6,000 years ago, is home to the first village with the earliest primitives and houses in Shanghai.
